This week, Tate “I love it when you call me big papa” Litchfield, Rossi Spong our Chief Problem Solver, her husband Garrett, Keshon Henry our beloved Jamaican VA, and I have been hanging out in Negril Jamaica!
We wanted to celebrate Keshon’s birthday in style and let her know how much we care and appreciate her for all the value she creates for our companies.
I haven’t traveled internationally in years and even though it’s quite a process now with COVID I have to say it’s been an amazing experience.
Here are some quick thoughts about our trip.
Seeing a yellow stingray, pufferfish, beautiful coral reefs in the clear Caribbean waters while snorkeling and diving have been phenomenal. Tate and I went on four incredible dives to get certified. I forgot how enjoyable and scary it is to be a new student and learn something completely novel.
Learning more about each person on our trip has been an absolute joy. If you get a chance to ask Rossi about her favorite music… Well, let’s just say I guarantee it won’t disappoint. Don’t play any games with her if you’re expecting to win. Also, Garrett is one of the top five smartest, nicest, and most interesting people on the planet. My man-crush has only broadened since spending more time with him. Keshon has been teaching us Jamaican curse words, some patois, and making us feel like locals! If you ever get a chance to travel with Tate take the opportunity! He’s more entertaining in person than he is virtually and has amazing stories.
I forgot how lucky I am to live in the United States with all of its modern conveniences. Being on a beautiful island is an amazing experience, but the daily gratitude to live in the United States is always on my mind. I’m always thinking about how I had a 2 in 7 chance to be born in India or China. Yet, by some luck, here I am enjoying a poor country and its beauty always knowing that I’ll be back in the lap of total comfort and luxury soon by no effort of mine except luck.
If you get a chance to eat at Mama’s Lobster Shack on the beach in Negril Jamaica don’t ask twice! Just make the reservation.
Those are my thoughts “maan”… I’m off to go to the swim-up pool and order a bottled “Wata”. That’s right, it’s “Wata Maan!” Now go listen to some Bob Marley for us!
