T- Thoughts
“Difficulty is what wakes up the genius.” Nassim Nicholas Taleb
My early mentor Raj once scolded me when I was complaining about the stress of a deal we were working on together. He said, “If you don’t want stress, go work at McDonald’s.”
No offense to a McDonald’s employee, but there isn’t much “pain”. The systems are so tight at McDonald’s they can be run by high school kids! The hard work of “thinking” has been done for them.
To embrace the pain of life is to be fully alive with it. It’s to embrace improvement. If you don’t take risks like starting a business, investing in assets you won’t get outsized returns.
Everything good comes from some kind of pain. Yet, most including me at times, try to avoid the pain and pursue something more pleasurable like Netflix or keeping money in the bank earning 0% interest.
If you try to constantly avoid pain you’ll be fragile. When the inevitable setbacks in life hit you’ll shrink.
The softer the chair, the harder it is to get up and move out of it.
So when you’re having a difficult time in business or in life be grateful. You’re getting stronger more anti-fragile and smarter. If you’re too comfortable now is the time to do something hard, take a calculated risk, and embrace some pain.
Raj told me if want to reduce my stress… Put myself into stressful situations so then nothing will seem stressful.
Let me know how I can help you… Just email me at [email protected]
“Let me be more aggressive: we are largely better at doing than we are at thinking, thanks to antifragility. I’d rather be dumb and antifragile than extremely smart and fragile, any time.” –Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Teria: I found this channel on youtube, School of Greatness. One thing I like about Lewis Howes is, he has the most amazing people on his podcast, he interviews them from everything —health, business, mindset, goals. He interviewed Tony Robbins, Kobe Bryant, and a lot of successful people. I recommend you to take a look at his podcast.

Thanks to One on One coaching client and Flight School alum James Buttermore for sharing his story with me!
The last cash sale was for $19,418 (sold at the terms price, no cash discount), I had bought the property for $4,500; a 331% return! I closed on the property purchase on Friday, then I sent an email to my buyer’s list on the following Tuesday and sold it that day! I was not trying to sell for cash, but that is what the buyer wanted to do.
It’s funny because the prior week I was talking to my wife about how we keep buying properties and I was trying to figure out when our passive income will exceed our expenses including property purchases. The next thing I know, I made the cash sale of $19,418! This reminds me of a podcast where you said “don’t worry about where the cash will come from, they will just happen!”
What an incredible opportunity! In 9 months I have a passive income that is 80% of my Social Security that I have worked a lifetime for!
I am working on my goals for the next year (12 weeks) and the next calendar year. And I am very excited for the potential of where I will be after the next 9 months and beyond!
I can’t thank you enough for sharing this opportunity and giving me the opportunity to be able to retire comfortably.
Sincerely,
James Buttermore
