T- Thoughts
  1. “If you want it done, then go. And if not, then send.” Julius Caesar
What the heck is Julius Caesar talking about? What he meant was, if you want it done right, then you have to go yourself and do it.
When you own the company, the effort involved, the care you take is just on a different plane than an independent contractor or employee. The independent contractor or employee can do a bad job and just not care.
However, I’m the owner of several companies and everyone that works “with me” not “for me” does an amazing job! Unlike my buddies that work at large corporations, they are just working to get a paycheck and doing the absolute minimum to not get fired. My team takes total ownership over the quality of their work. Basically, they care like me. They own it.
There’s a huge benefit to being a small company and communicating to your team how their efforts are impacting not just the business, but their customers. They are making an impact greater than themselves.
It is critical whenever you are training someone new on your team that you instill in them a feeling of direct ownership. They have to know they’re not just a cog in a machine, their work is making a difference not just to you, but to the world.
I always feel sad when I hear about a friend or family member getting a raise or promotion at the company they just hate working at. I know it’s going to be that much harder for them to break out and become free. They will adapt to the money, they will grow bored of the new meetings and hierarchical system. They will resent the golden handcuffs and wake up wondering how to become free and own their own thing one day.
“Something happens when you feel ownership. You no longer act like a spectator or consumer, because you’re an owner. Faith is at its best when it’s that way too. It6t’s best lived when it’s owned.” Bob Goff

Roberto also shares advice to all listeners who want to retire from their 9 to 5 to become a part of the land investing business.
TIP OF THE WEEK
Roberto Chavez: This book really helped me make more sales and be able to talk to people more, because that’s the skill that I didn’t really have, the tip is Never Split the Difference by Christopher Voss and Tahl Raz. It’s really good, and I think anybody who’s in the land business should read it. It will help them improve their negotiation skills, and buying or selling land.
