T- Thoughts
  1. “Friends and good manners will carry you where money won’t go.” -Margaret Walker
For the past 6 days my best friend Brett visited me from Chicago. We went hiking twice, biked around town, swam in the pool and had those deep conversations only you and your closest confidant can truly have knowing there’s no judgement only acceptance, support, encouragement and love.
We have been friends for over 33 years and have watched our kids grow up, been through broken relationships and the inevitable highs and lows of life. He has seen me at my very worst and my very best and never hesitated to hold up the mirror for me whether I wanted to see it or not.
A friend like Brett is priceless.
Yet, there were times in life when making money was my sole purpose! Calls went un-returned, texts were brief and cold. Yet, his friendship remained steadfast. However, once I figured out how to create a passive income that friendship blossomed into something more special then words can convey.
In fact, the past 6 days were only possible due to my passive income in land investing. I wasn’t tied to obligatory meetings, emails that if went unreturned would possibly get me fired or any other corporate overlord nonsense. What a gift!
If your friendships are suffering because you’re in that mode of living to work instead of working to live. Take a beat and reflect. Is there any possession in your life that is more important than your best friend?
“True friendship is like sound health; the value of it is seldom known until it is lost.“ Charles Caleb Cotton

This Week on The Art of Passive Income...
On this week’s episode of The Art of Passive Income, Mark and Scott welcome, business coach, mentor, and real estate entrepreneur, Brian Ellwood to the show.
Episode Notes
Brian Ellwood is a business coach, mentor, and real estate entrepreneur, who “retired” from the corporate world at age 30 after amassing dozens of properties to start his real estate portfolio. Through working smartly and forming meaningful relationships, his real estate venture grew into a 7-figure flipping business, which allows him to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a real estate investing coach.
As a serial entrepreneur, he turned this new endeavor into a six figures per year business, while helping dozens of people get into their first investment properties. After 4 years of coaching investors, observing the real estate market, and exploring new trends, Brian transformed his coaching business entirely. Presently he helps other coaches break into the online coaching space and scale their businesses to six figures while enjoying the work they do.
While Brian’s story of being a corporate world “drop-out” isn’t unique, most people are afraid to take the risk of giving up a secure position to work on their passion. Brian uses his story and successes as an example to motivate his mentees to become a better version of themselves and getting their business to the level they want, despite difficult situations and setbacks. Having achieved most of his goals, Brian spends his downtime with his wife Carleigh and daughter Everley, discovering Colorado, snowboarding, skateboarding, playing music and video games, and drinking beer with friends.
Listen in as they discuss:
  • Brian’s journey into real estate investing, business coaching, and serial entrepreneurship.
  • The art of successfully entering the real estate industry.
  • Tips on how to be effective at wholesaling and diversifying your real estate portfolio.
  • The importance of creating a fool-proof business model.
  • Delaying self-gratification to invest in your business and business opportunities.
  • Learning how to solve your money problems by creating a passive income stream.
  • Understanding the importance of a healthy saving habit while growing your business and diversifying your portfolio.
  • Working smarter, instead of harder to find business opportunities and grow your leads and client following.
  • Adjusting your mindset to set up yourself for success.
  • Tips for forming partnerships with people who are capable of helping your business grow.
  • The impact of demographics on business.

In This Week's Round Table...
On this week’s round table episode, the Land Geeks share several reasons why you should take action with your business manually before building a system to carry out its processes.
Episode Notes
Joining Mark this week are:
  • Erik Peterson
  • Mike Zaino
  • Tate Litchfield
  • Scott Bossman
Listen in as they go around the table and share their views on the topic. They also kicked off the episode by sharing their biggest takeaway from the Bootcamp.
Processes built on theory are never going to work as effective as the ones built on fact ~ Tate Litchfield
Erik: My tip is called, it’s a checklist or a resource for everything you could possibly need to set up your deal of the week in landing page campaigns. It starts off with some related articles about landing pages and why you should use them, it moves you how to register a domain where you can build landing pages and it just keeps going. It’s a pretty helpful resource of all the tools you need for that.
